Romney Marsh lamb
Developed of these very islands the Romney Marsh is loved for its tenderness and wonderful flavour. The Romney is a very docile animal which is easy to handle and easily bread. Another attribute that the Romney brings to the table is it great mothering skills; over hundreds of years the Romney has developed and evolved into thee most efficient sheep in world and that plays a massive part in why we keep them.During lambing season which for us is Easter time, lambing alone makes it one of our busiest times of the year so we spend as much time as possible on the farm. Our biggest problem is that the restaurant, Foodhall and agricultural shop is experiencing one the busiest time of the year as well, so we are in the shop everyday and do not get home until late each evening. Therefore we rely on the mothers to rear their lambs and they do this hassle free.
